Kelli @ There's No Place Like Home is hosting Show and Tell Friday. Don't miss seeing Kelli's sweet garden furniture for people and fairies!:) And be sure to check out all of the other treasures of those participating this week!
Due to some "technical" problems with my usual computer, my show and tell post today will be a rerun of some pictures. This time I would like to showcase the dishes that are displayed on our hutch. These are not close ups, but I am hoping you'll be able to click on the picture and see the pattern better.
These dishes are on display in my kitchen every day on the hutch. I have to admit, that we rarely use them. Since they compliment the wallpaper border with fruit, I have used them decoratively.
On Easter, I decided to use them because of their Spring colors and in doing so realized how much I enjoy using them. I'm sorry that I didn't get a picture of our Easter tablescape for you to see. In your mind's eye, see a cream color tablecloth with six place settings, including the stemware pictured here. The cloth napkins that I made in November and Grandmother Viola's silverware (in 3rd photo). For a centerpiece, I placed a two layered white cake with white icing and sprinkles on a glass pedestal cake plate, topped with a darling ceramic tiny bunny popping out of a purple egg. I know... we can't figure out what a bunny is doing coming out of an egg either, but that's our Easter dessert decoration every year -the bunny cake:)
I found these at Dollar Tree several years ago. I love that place:)
When my local store didn't have all of the pieces that I wanted, a quick call to my sister put her on the move to find them in her town. And find them she did! Enough for settings for 12--with extra cups:)

So as I told my family, as we enjoyed our Sunday Easter dinner, I think that I will be pulling these down to use them more often. To look at them just makes me happy:) And that's what it's all about, right?:)

I remember your hutch! It's just like the one my mother has! And you're so funny about never using the dishes because they match your décor!! I am the same way!! I have a set of rooster dishes that I NEVER use because they're in my hutch and match the décor. I love the dishes, they must have been beautiful on your Easter table!! Have a great weekend!! Thanks for always leaving wonderful encouraging comments on my blog!!!
They are lovely! I truly think the dollar stores are the best. I have three within 2 miles of each other.
I kept looking down at your earlier posts and I just think your home is so pretty!
Thank you for visiting the cottage and my little sewing nook :)
blessings,
Lady M
They are lovely dishes. I wish I had room for something like that.
Sounds like a lovely Easter with your family. Your post is making me hungry. :)
How pretty! I love your hutch and all of the dishes.
Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by my kitchen table for a visit too. Stop in anytime... I love company.

I am sure your Easter table was beautiful. Beside loving your dishes, I also love your hutch.

The Dollar Tree is a great place to pick up so many wonderful items.
These are so pretty and I am a huge fan of using special plates as often as possible. Everyday should be special! Very pretty.
Your dishes and how they are displayed are beautiful. Your Easter table sounded so pretty. I love baking and decorating cakes too. I'm so glad you had a wonderful holiday and got to spend time with your family. Have a wonderful weekend. Love, Elena
