For Today... August 24, 2009

Outside my window..Wow- what a gorgeous morning a beautiful day to come. This summer has been amazing here.

I am thinking... about Amanda as she is in her very first college class right now. I hope she loves college:)

I am thankful for...oh so many things- I use that word loosely. I used to have a plaque that read, "The most important things in life are not things." Those are what I am so thankful. A loving Savior, family, friends (yes you:), a godly husband...blessings that are not things.

From the kitchen... For dinner tonight, meatloaf, baked potatoes, green beans and sliced homegrown (by my mom and sister:) tomatoes.

I am wearing... pj's. Yes, I am the only one in the house- and I can if I want to:)

I am hoping... to get the downstairs "under the stairs" closet purged and organized this week.

I am hearing..a squirrel chattering up in the tree in the front yard. I noticed some dirt misplaced in one of my pots on the deck. I wonder what treasure they have buried in there for winter. One summer when I was replanting flowers in a pot, I found a big walnut.

I am praying...a good start to a new school year. Many are starting classes today.

Around the house... laundry of course. I will also be giving my kitchen a cleaning from floor to counters to cleaning out the fridge. I think those things are green enough in the back to throw them out now:)

One of my favorite things...office supplies-- I love shopping for school and office supplies.

A few plans for the rest of the week...welcoming Tim and Brooke back home from their honeymoon. Pictures of the wedding are coming. I will be featuring a good friend's pics this week:)

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...*

This is me adoring our little granddaughter Sophia. We had met for the first time the day before when we arrived in Grand Rapids. We were all coming together for Tim and Brooke's wedding. This picture was taken at the reception. It was a hot day- you can tell that my makeup has almost melted off- and Sophie's hair was damp. But Sophie and Grammy talked and talked:) We'll see her again at Christmas.
