Today is Thankful Thursday. Lynn from ‘Spiritually Unequally Marriage’ will be hosting Thankful Thursday during March, and Laurie from ‘Women Taking a Stand’ will be hosting in April.
Stop and visit Lynn and see what others are thankful for.
As I go through my day, I talk to God. I thank him for many things and ask his help in others.
I thank him for the reliable furnace as I hear it come on throughout the day. I ask him to protect our home when storms and ice and rain come- because it's his house. I've turned it over to him for using as he wants. I offer it for hospitality, and warmth and comfort for others when needed.
As I load the washer and hear it swishing our clothes clean, I say thank you. As water goes through the pipes (not frozen) or when the dryer, with all of its options for how I want my clothes to dry, does its job- I whisper, wow, God, thank you.
Loading the dishwasher, I say thank you. All of these conveniences I try not to take for granted. These are every day things -easy to just use and go on.
Maybe because I've lived long enough to have had all of these machines at one time or another break, I remember what is like to live without them for some time. That's when you realize how much you use and depend on them.
I ask God's help throughout the day for safety and strength and knowledge and wisdom, and for our needs. I ask him to watch over our family as they travel to jobs and such. I feel him close. Caring about what I am doing. And I thank him for that.
I look around our home, and thank the Lord for these blessings- the everyday things...that really are quite amazing.

amen amen amen..what a beautiful thankful post.
I love how you see the everyday things we often take for granted and you're thankful. This was good for me to read. How often I think of the extraordinary things but not the simple but necessary things for which I can be thankful. Thank you!
Such a lovely thankful post.
I loved reading about what you are thankful for. My husband told me when we were dating that the key to contentment was a thankful heart! I knew he was such a jewel and I was so thankful that God brought him into my life and that he became my husband.
Isn't this so true! Praising God with you! Happy Thursday! Amanda
A beautiful post, Linda
it's a blessing that you can see the wonders that your everdday living brings you. be blessed.
thanks for visiting my TT!
It's so easy to take those things for granted rather than being thankful, as you are. Great reminder!
What a beautiful post - God is truly in the everyday things. Happy Thankful Thursday!
Nice post of thankfulness. We so easily forget the blessings we enjoy daily. Thanks for the reminders.
Mmmm, yes. I was blessed to read this accounting of your gratitude. Thanks for bringing my attention to His faithfulness in all the things i so easily take for granted.
Hey, maybe I'll get to meet you soon, too! I'm looking forward to that.
Hi sweetie, This post made my eyes tear up. We do have so many things to thank God for. I heard someone say one time:
"The more you thank God for what you have, the more you'll have to thank God for."
I believe it's true! Maybe not more "things", but I believe He delights in and blesses a truly thankful heart.
I am captivated by your sweet, loving, thankful spirit Linda. You are a real blessing to me, friend. :o) I haven't had much time to visit blogs in the past week or so, and I'm so glad I could stop by and visit you.
Oh and I didn't have any problem loading my scripture tag, but I did notice that at the bottom of the front page of Cutest Blog on the Block they had some sort of help for that type of issue. Check it out and see if that fixes it. I think a lot of this stuff is just issues since blogger transitioned to the google thingy.
Sweet blessings to you today. I am so glad to be your bloggy friend, Linda!
HUGS,
Becky
hello! God is indeed great and mighty!
May God bless you as you continue to seek Him everyday!
Love this post. We all need to take time to thank Him for the things we often take for granted.
